Description

"Rolling Girl is always in a dream
That will never come true
There's so much noise inside her little head
She scratches it all around, she scratches it all around

'No problem' the words come out so lightly
Did she lose the words she had to say?"

Not a big fan of Vocaloid here, but I do enjoy some of the songs and the videoclips...And I'd love to go to one of their concerts, I mean, have you seen those holograms?! Holy crap!

Anyways, I've recently found out about the "Hatsune Miku Expo 2014" which was in New York. The guys from Crypton Future Media asked Tetsuya Nomura to do an artwork of Miku for it, and he accepted...But he also produced a shortfilm later with the guys from Visual Works...And now, I wish to be rich, just so I can give those people everything, so they can put THAT version of Miku as hologram in the concerts!
My goodness! She looks so great! I never really liked the original designs of the Vocaloids -they're too plain and simple-, but then I always find all different awesome versions of them, and this one was definitely my favorite...Yeah I'm a big Nomura fangirl, get over it, the guy is an Art Lord!

Anyways, check out Nomura's concept of Miku: squareportal.files.wordpress.c…
And the Visual Works shortfilm with the concept: www.youtube.com/watch?v=omxH7z…

And here goes my fanart...Which is based on Nomura's version of Miku.

In my headcannon, Miku and the other Vocaloids are music robots in a not-so-distant future -where robots are common-, created as entertainment. They gain millions of fans but some people reject robots to take over the humans' lives, and so they riot trying to destroy these machines. Miku becomes one of their victims. She is hurt in the skull by something hard, and this is seen by one of her fans, a little girl, who quickly runs towards her and gives her a hug, thinking that maybe Miku feels the pain and is sad... At that moment, somehow, Miku's true personality activates... Like if she had a soul since the beginning, and just needed to be awaken. Miku starts to wish she could turn into a real human -a Pinocchio complex there-, and her Vocaloid bandmates become disturbed of her developing emotions. The creators believe she's just glitching, and restart her software. Miku appears to be back to normal.
In a later concert, a group of anti-robots people infiltrate and try to destroy the robot musicians... The Vocaloids see them run furiously towards the stage. One of them appears from backstage and atempts to shoot Miku to finally destroy her. A little girl jumps up the stage to protect her idol...
Miku holds the body of the little girl... It is the same little girl that hugged her before... Miku let's out, for the first time, a tear... What happened next? I don't know, but I heard the guys who were trying to destroy the Vocaloids are now dead... The end!

Hey this is pretty sweet and the little side story that goes along with it is very unique. I'm not a fan of Vocaloid either but I've always admired the style used to draw Miku.
Dude friggin Nomura!? Damn you can't get more epic than that... (well there is Suzuhito Yasuda of the Yokozura Quartet and Devil Survivor 2) but Nomura? Damn. I gotta check this out.

Your artwork never ceases to amaze me. Keep up the great work. =D
